Casino roulette

Land based casino roulette goes way back and is still one of the oldest casino games in our existence today. In comparison to land based casino roulette, online roulette is a relatively young industry. There are slight differences between the two that is, whether you are playing at an online casino or land based casino. With the latter you are required to purchase chips from the kiosk which is used for placing your bets, and with online roulette you only need to fund up your account e.g. with your credit card.

At a land based casino each roulette table has its own supply of six or seven distinctly colored chips in sets of 300, each player is assigned a unique color that no-one else may use until the player leaves the table and surrenders the chips once you have placed your bet, the dealer (also known as a croupier in land based casinos), rotates the wheel and at the same time spins a small white ball on the rim of the wheel in the opposite direction of the turning wheel. The ball finally drops into one of the slots. That symbol and color that the ball comes to fall on becomes the winner for that particular spin. Players can bet on either single symbols, groups of adjoining symbols, sets of twelve symbols, the red or black colors, odd or even symbols or half the symbols.

If you are playing online roulette placing your bet at a virtual roulette table is as simple as selecting the chip denomination and left clicking on the table by the area where you wish to place your bet. The virtual roulette wheel is spun by a RNG (random number generator), a RNG is a complex algorithm written in computer programming language by some very smart computer expert. Most online casinos will offer both European and American Roulette. The double zero became known as the American Wheel, the single zero wheel had dethroned the double zero wheels in Europe and as a result dubbed the "French Wheel".
